This policy brief points out that all reduced class size initiatives are not alike,
and must be carefully crafted to assure that schools and students reap the maximum
benefits from smaller classes.

100% of 3rd graders at Eastside Charter School, a school
with 88% of its students coming from low income families, passed the latest
round of state mandated standardized performance tests. Eastside has only
16 third-graders and 126 students altogether in its preschool-through-fifth
grade classes. But that's the point.
